Bosque Conservatory Auxiliary

The Conservatory Auxiliary originated during the planning of the first Big Event, the Conservatory’s annual major fundraiser. Members serve as hostesses and guides in the Art Gallery, as well as fundraisers for the group. The general goals agreed upon were to promote education in the arts, fund raising and building improvement. In the early stages this meant everything from cleaning machine oil off the floors of the theatre building to sewing privacy curtains for the restrooms. They hosted St. Patrick Day luncheons, sold raffle tickets for quilts, organized quilt shows and began the annual spring book review. Members also pitched in as dessert cooks for many events including the first three dinner theatres. Each member is encouraged to help in the office, and a long range goal is to be able to staff the building on a regular basis so that more out of town visitors can enjoy the Jones Gallery and the Photography Gallery.
