Art and Photography Competitions
Each year two major competitions are held at The Conservatory; the Conservatory Art Classic and Viewpoint.
The Conservatory Art Classic, sponsored by the Conservatory Art Council, was organized in 1986, and has become an international juried art show held each year in September. 2008 marks the show’s 23rd year.
Through purchase awards given by Roland and Joyce Jones, in memory of their son John Steven, and the Conservatory Art Patrons, at least two show pieces are added to the Conservatory’s permanent collection each year, which is located in the Jones Memorial Gallery on the second floor of the Conservatory. The gallery houses an outstanding collection of original paintings and sculpture.

Open to all artists utilizing photographic processes, Viewpoint is a nationwide competition managed by the Conservatory Photography Guild. Cash awards total over $700.
